Apartments with Elevators in Orlando, FL

Elevators

Just when you thought you were safe and you found the perfect luxury apartment, you've met your dreaded enemy: stairs. With grocery bags digging in to one arm and your keys in your other hand, you look for the closest elevator. And luckily enough, your complex has one. With a sigh of relief you move your keys to your mouth, press the button with your now-free hand, and head up to your apartment, stairs no longer a hindrance. This situation isn't unusual, nor is it unlikely. What are you going to do when you're moving into a new 2 bedroom or 3 bedroom apartment and you realize you've been placed on the 3rd floor?

Elevators are not only a convenience in a housing development, but not as common in the Orlando area as you might think. You need to search for Orlando apartments with elevators specifically, because there exist a lot of two and three floor complexes with only one way up (and down). Whether you are in search of a handicap accessible apartment, or just want the added convenience of an elevator, this list should help you find an apartment that can give you a lift.

But how do you decide if an elevator is right for you?

You need to ask yourself some basic questions to decide if an elevator is a necessity or a luxury. Do you have to travel outside your apartment to get your laundry? Do you have to carry equipment often (band members with their drums, athletes with their tennis rackets or oars, etc.)? Do you have an injury making it hard to use stairs? Do you have an aversion to steps? If you've answered yes to any of these questions, you're probably better off looking for a building with an elevator. Apartments in Orlando with elevators are available in both off-campus and affiliated housing. If you notice the building has minimal floors, it probably doesn't have an elevator. Look for apartments in Orlando with more than three floors. Those housing complexes are more likely to have an elevator handy to reach their higher units.

But…who wouldn't want an elevator?

Orlando apartments are not required to provide elevators. Not everyone needs an elevator, even though it is nice to have one close at hand. If you want to live on the first floor, you can pretty much look for apartments anywhere. In the end it all depends on your preference, how comfortable you are with walking up steps, and the cost of the unit. For some people, cost will always trump convenience, though there are plenty of apartments in Orlando with elevators that won't break the bank. Just add it to your checklist of apartment needs and go from there. You might end up falling in love with a complex that doesn't have an elevator, so you'll make the sacrifice.

Look for other apartment conveniences  that will make your life easier such as valet trash removal, emergency maintenance, and more.
